I have been annoyed by this issue for the past view weeks. I though i had a good open rates but click rates were appalling. I am fairly new to mailing, i was wondering if my records are sucks (GI and TLD) or the general market that isn't playing ball nowadays?
hi, first of all,.. i meant few, not view.. It was creative made by advertiser and me, i know many of them simply dont work, so what i did, i combined the image only creative and the txt only. Perhaps that what makes it so shite..?
Lots of factors. Could be you have a good subject getting opens, but the creative isn't appealing. Could be a niche your list doesn't respond to. Some offers get high engagement - lots of clicks. Doesn't necessarily mean lots of pay as it seems that the more clicks you get, the lower the offer pays. At any rate you can test a different creative. You can test a different offer to the same list as well and see how it responds. Lots of testing...
Ah yes, good point SG. Lots of moving parts in mailing. You can never assume things are working. I'm sure a lot of us have a checklist to run through whenever something isn't working.
yeah, some good points above for you to check out. with respect to what Ikh (can we we call you Ikh? lol) said about bots, if you're getting a lot of opens but no clicks and no usnubs then it could be bots. but if you're getting tons of unsubs then your creative probably sucks, change it up
Thanks gents, at the moment i am at 22400 and have 3 miserable clicks including mine when i tested the link about 10 minutes ago. Yes it works, i mean the link, and the click was registered. Open rate now is 328. It could be bot as i dont see any unsubs request at all,.. looks like i also need to find other records to mail to test as well,..
yep, you should dump this data and get something better. Ideally something specific for the niche you are mailing Also, this is a bit off topic, but above you mentioned that you are combining text and image creatives. Unless you have some background with that I would suggest just running with text only or basic html creatives. While you are learning the ropes if you can take out one more variable from the equation it makes the process a little easier
@arbydar: yeah i do a bit of html. From what i've heard sending image only html, will get the email spammed, so i was trying to combine the two. Any idea where to get good list for revshare by the way? wont be needing loads,..
@DataDogg, hi,.. no it was just from one offer. Sending done now, all 38K, i had nearly 850 opens and still adding, but clicks were low. Im trying now with different offer and see how it pans out,.. @nickphx, hello.. yeah that could be too, still learning the rope here
@DKPMO from a guy i do the revshare with, i think it was originally from payday niche and it suppose to be responsive as well. I have been doing stuff like credit card, credit score and didnt hack it lately. I am sending Payday restructure now respond is okay, but could have been better,.. i tried the marketplace for record JV, but couldnt seem to find any good ones, i guess it makes sense, why would you share your record if it is profitable,... hmm
I think assuming data from "vertical x" will respond to offers in the same vertical is a mistake in and of itself. The thing to do IMO is try a high clicker type of offer like coupons, zip/email submits - something well branded that will illicit that click you're looking for. Load up something completely different and give it a shot; doesn't sound like you have much to lose rev wise at least! :wavey:
This is exactly it. Try the offers Push is suggesting to get a better read on the responsiveness of data.
