    Hey guys,

If you guys use 1and1.com for your domains, they have a $4.99 .COM special until August 31.

At first I thought it was a one domain only promotion but I was able to register quite a few at the $4.99 price.

    Have fun :)

I would generally advise against conducting any kind of business with 1and1. They suck on so many levels.

    Thanks for the warning DK!

Someone else told me the same thing (he basically said not good for GI) but since I personally use domains in a variety of projects (not related to mailing) I figured I'd just give them a try.

    You are welcome.

1and1 is horrible not just for mailing. Setting DNS is a nightmare and they do not even let you set your own nameservers.

Support is staffed by idiots without basic English proficiency and if you try to cancel any services they'll still try to charge you.

    Avoid at all costs!

By the way what about internet. bs ?
They give .coms for $8, .nets for $6.5. Free whoisguard.
I mean if not 1&1, then not only namecheap. I've searched and I found them as the only compromise between 1&1 and namecheap.

I generally agree. Although I've had an account there with domains/hosting since the turn of the century, I cringe monthly when I realize the payment's going to come out and I've failed to completely migrate all of the stuff out of there. lol
