One in the north pole labeled Old Saint Nick is generally what I use, Then santa claus gives me the letters back around x-mas.
Oh Comedians in the house. I love it. Do you use your personal address, business address, a random address. Please give me some insight please.
Can spam says your message must include your valid physical postal address. This can be your current street address, a post office box you've registered with the U.S. Postal Service, or a private mailbox you've registered with a commercial mail receiving agency established under Postal Service regulations. P.O box here.
IIRC, That wouldn't be legal... if you're scared to put your real address to a PO Box or otherwise then you're obviously not confident in the fact that you are 100% compliant with your mailing and are in-deed mailing opt-in data.
Just wondering how you guys would go about the address requirement, I personally would never put a random address.
One thing to stick with when mailing is to make sure you're 100% compliant, while you may be worried about some people having a real physical address if you're not complaint with CAN-Spam you have a shit ton more to worry about then just being sued by a litigator.
Why would you use a random address? In order to comply with US Federal law you must use a postal address for the sender of the message that the recipient can use to send a written removal request.. To do otherwise would be a violation of the law..
The question is, do you want to be stalked, harassed and targeted by a bunch of mentally unbalanced individuals? If you do, use your personal or business address that would make you easy to find. Then get ready for some extreme fun. If you are really lucky someone may actually show up at your door. Otherwise, they might start a blog about you, post pictures of your house, call you at 3am in the morning, etc, you should get the idea. But if you prefer peace of mind, get a PO box that will let you comply with CAN-SPAM and process physical unsubscribes. There is no legal requirement for this address to be linked to your publicly identifiable information.
I pay $100 a year for a mailbox in Vegas. It just collects all the BS mail for me, and if I want to read it, I can have it sent to me. I have better things to read though...
You'll get some interesting mail so make sure you don't put your home address. I once had a letter from an older person asking me to call them and help them walk through the grant process.
That's pretty interesting lol, I never thought you'd get something like that thought it'd be more hate mail then anything. Any of you ever considered setting up a Asterisk system on a PSTN number and just collect the voice mails?
