    Hey everybody,

i am totally new to this forum and also totally new to IM.
I have been reading this section of the forum for the past two days and from my understanding most of you use your own mailing servers with custom platforms, data that you mostly purchase and outsourcing.
Although i do see the huge benefit of it, i am an IT student and although i have some money to invest, it is not enough to support this type of setup for more than a month.

So what i thought i could do, is use an ESP like Aweber/MailChimp and a squeeze page, generating my data myself, letting it run for about 3 months(gathering experience in copywriting meanwhile as this is the biggest obstacle for me.Being a non-native speaker in a non-English speaking country doesn't help at all.) and then, deciding if i am going to move to a more professional setup or not.

Do you think it is viable or not? Any advice would really be appreciated :D

    Hello Blighted,

Welcome to MF and the world of online marketing.
I like your idea of generating your own optins to Aweber/MailChimp.
That's a good place to start. You probably won't make a lot of
money right away, but you'll gain some valuable experience and
it won't cost you a ton of money. Once you have the basics
figured out you can move up to the next level and invest some
of your funds into an entry level mailer and some data.

Question: how were you planning to generate traffic to your squeeze pages?

Hey arbydar, thanks for the reply.
I have been thinking alot about it, and have decided that i will start with solo ads and some social media advertizing(through fan pages, not paid at least in the beginning) of my free product giveaway.
Maybe some PPC later on, but i don't have any experience with it, so i am not really confident about the CTR.
I will study more about it and then will try my luck with it.
