If you find yourself with IP's that are listed with Barracuda, you can send a request to your ISP for de-listing or you can do it yourself. Here's the link: Barracuda Blacklist Removal Request Form If you mail GI this BL will kill your delivery.
How much success are you having with this? So far, I have found this tool to be as useful as cloud marks. Basically, I haven't seen any response after filling it out. No like ATT and Verizon. Maybe it's just me, though.
James, feel free to post in the marketplace about your services. Add a link to your signature. I don't mind you posting about your services, but I'd rather you try to keep your posts relevant to the thread and talk about your services in the proper category. Thanks!
Guys, emailreg is the place to signup to pretty much insure you never hit the BBL: http://www.emailreg.org/index.cgi costs 20.00 but you can monitor all your domains and IPs. Even though they say it will NOT prevent you from getting listed, it most certainly has helped us. Jedi
Good to know, I posted this up on another thread so if you want to go and comment on this so others will see it I'd appreciate it!
I've always been able to avoid getting listed in the first place by taking out any domains with an mx record containing ess.barracudanetworks in it.
I requested my "new" IPs be delisted, got email notices from Barracuda within minutes and their follow up email with my removal confirmation. They were removed within 24 hours. After a week of mailing on the IPs I'm still not listed but I did NOT register my domains with emailreg.org.... Like Mike said, it's easy. :itsme:
Barracuda removal is automatic and quick... It is a no-brainer I have always done it for every IP I use and there is no excuse to not do it... It seems though that their impact on delivery might be over-estimated. I have never noticed the difference of more than a few % in delivery rate. But if you can remove it why not?
I've noticed the drop in deliverability for GI mailing like PushSend said....same list, same message, one ip listed, one not generally found my conversions to be only 10% on the listed ip. However, I never could conclude if having a domain listed on there did or did not make a difference.
I submitted a bunch of newly acquired IPs to Barracuda for delisting and they were all removed from the database within 24 hours. That doesn't seem to improve delivery to some ESPs such as Earthlink & SCBGlobal though. Still getting "IP xx.xx.xx.xxx Blocked" messages in my STMP logs 72 hours after removal. Should I contact these ESPs or is it a normal delay?
Earthlink is a manual delist - try [email protected] SBC is Yahoo - so go thru the yahoo postmaster route. Jedi
Hey I made my first barracuda "remove request" and was delisted less then 12hrs: The Barracuda Spam Firewall has rules that apply to email sent from an IP address known to Barracuda Central with a "poor" rating. The Barracuda Spam Firewall has an option to decline email from these IPs. This is an option that the Administrator of the Barracuda Spam Firewall may enable. If the Administrator chooses to enable this option it may block email from your IP address. This IP has been seen by Barracuda Central to transmit spam email in the past 30 days. We have removed your "poor" rating. The IP will be automatically rechecked several times each day and may be adjusted again if issues are observed. Please allow between 12 and 24 hours for changes to propagate around the world to all Barracuda Spam Firewalls -- at which time you will be able to send email from the IP address. This is the last email you should receive about this issue. ....hehehe..right
Yeah it's easy. AND I noticed I didn't get back on barracuda which is great. Bad part is I don't think it did much of anything when I was removed. Actually that might be a good thing.
