Hi all, When you're sending 1000's of clicks to an offer and receive next to 0 conversions. Are you being ripped off by the advertiser/network, does it mean you just have a very large clickers list or does the offer just out right suck? What do you guys do? 1. bitch about it 2. just move on to the next offer 3. keep testing the offer with different assets 4. something besides 1,2 or 3. How does someone get so many clicks, but not conversions?
I wouldn't let an offer get so many non-converting clicks to begin with. What's the payout for this thing? Say it pays $10, then you already know the EPC is under 1 cent. Just fuggedaboutit! Of course these clicks might all be bots, but that's an entirely different subject. You need to be able to exclude bots from your calculation or otherwise you are flying blind...
You shouldn't bitch UNLESS you've filled out the offer yourself and that sale/conversion didn't show up. Secondly I'd hope that you had run a different offer out to the same data so you had a baseline for the performance of the data set. After a few 100 clicks and little to no conversions I've already moved on.... :marchmellow:
There could be some type of technical issue involved. Landing page down/bad redirects/ Bot EmailAddress/etc.. I would investigate the issue further, starting by testing the offer myself. If the offer tests out well, then its probably data related.
Thats all great advice guys. Im not having this issue, My guys know what they're doing, we're all about the ECPM. If its too low on the test, it wont get ran again unless there's a gauranteed CPM. I just wanted to make a point to someone that its not just the data when a campaign fails. There's alot that can contribute to this. I also thought it would be a good topic for all to discuss.
To me it was phrased like it was a personal issue by the wording of the OP, but good discussion none the less. my 2 cents: 1) Rotate the offer/creatives with a similar offer to the same list if there is one so you can distinguish if the offer in question is a shitter. 2) Create invisible pixels and track which email addys click on those so you can identify them as clickbots. 3) If you're using an intermediary lp get real time analytics on it so you can see what the visitors are doing.
Thats probally the hairy arm pits from the European women you're smelling. Most of you who know me, know I don't mail.
If its GI data its probably bots. What's the offer? I don't think a network is stupid enough to shave every single conversion for 1,000s clicks. I've been wrong before though.
Because I don't mail, it has to be the data even tho you guys just gave me a bunch examples of what it could be. Did I strike a nerve SG? Is your girlfriend European? Haha It could be the data, but with this set its highly un-likely.
