Has anyone had experience with liquidweb? Their boxes come with 16 IPs by default so I was going to pick up a couple servers from them. Just don't want to be shut down in a heartbeat.
HAHAHAHAHA!! Good luck with that one as well. Make sure you have some extra money on hand for all of the fines. :stupido:
They did not used to be bad. The "Cush" (co-owner) over there built their business up on mailers. However, they picked up a new head of support last year I believe... his name escapes me... but anyway he has since started dropping the hammer. Even on some of their bread and butter mailer clients.
Oh. I stopped leasing dedicated machines and tunneling /26's over a year ago.. Now it's all /19's /18's and two /16's for me sir.
You can get a server/IPs at a bunch of places. A decent chunk of them just either don't notice, or look the other way with complaints. I've mailed GI HARD for over a month on servers without 1 complaint forwarded to me and they never say anything. Others will send you every complaint and keep you up and running. Others shut you down instantly. Servers are relatively cheap, test the waters.
Liquidweb is a great host with incredible support for their managed boxes. It's not very mail friendly (if you plan on using junk data/inappropriate mailing practices). They also have no problem blocking your IP's from their site and or ordering another box if they feel something is peculiar with your actions.
If you are a CS compliant mailer with good lists and minimal grief you do not need to worry about where you host. Many hosts (not all) are understanding and do not break your balls over a few complaints. However, the more flags you start raising (complaints, BL, SBL's, etc.), the bigger the bulls eye you paint on yourself. In the end, your lists, your hygiene, volumes you mail, and management will ultimately make or break you. :goodnight:
