Curious about foreign IPs. I have never used. What's everyone think about them? I was told it adds points to spam scores but does it matter for mailing TLDs? Is it a red flag everywhere and you should stay away? Any insight is appreciated.
That's a good question chappy, I'd love to know the answer to this as well. I have programming contacts in sir lanka, india and china that I asked about getting me some servers, but haven't tried it. Spam scores was one concern, but didn't want to risk hurting the offer owners unless I knew they would be safe as well. I am staying away from it until I see it wont cause any problems personally.
Northern Europe IPs + German based language on the landing page == big 4 VERY friendly. I hope it helps !
Correct. LACNIC and RIPE work lovely. APNIC seem to be more country dependent IMHO (Japan vs China, etc.).
Never use Russian IPs. In my experience, you will not inbox well at all. That goes for China IPs as well. I stick with US IPs 100%.
Geography or location does make a difference. There is a "work around" for the Russian IP's at the ISP level. A lot of hassle, and you have to decide if worth the annoyance. For most of the small blocks, the short answer is "no". :afro:
AFAIK I have noticed Yahoo and its relatives add this for foreign IPs: X-Header-Overseas: Mail.from.Overseas.source.x.x.x.x So my guess is that it is factored in.
I know you mentioned TLD, but just for some input, I have been using some UK IPs for GI and delivery is exactly the same as picking up some random domestic server.
