Hey there friends, I'm somewhat new to the world of GI mailing and I'm in the market for a new dedicated server. Looking for something quad core, hopefully one with at least /28, preferably a /27, but I'm trying best to avoid justification woes even though I've pretty much realized that with a /27, it's pretty much inevitable ( .___.) My first server I got through zipservers.com and after a minor monthly fee, they handed over /28 with no questions asked, but after receiving two abuse complaints through them, I decided not to renew. So now, I'm back on a quest to find a server provider who is (somewhat) GI mailer friendly... if they even exist >_< I've read through the forums/tried searching around on my own and I've found an astounding amount of providers to rent dedi's from that maintain a large spectrum of policies from strict $250-fine-for-abuse to seemingly relaxed no-posted-policies companies. Any recommendations or advice will be graciously welcomed! \ ( ^ - ^ ) /
GI stands for General Internet. So a GI mailer basically sends messages to email addresses that aren't TLDs. (top level domains, ie. yahoo, aol, hotmail etc.)
General Internet. Anything besides the major domains such as Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail, Gmail, and cable company domains if we're talking pure GI.
There really is no such thing. Some just won't send you complaints and won't give a shit unless you get SBL'd. Just get /28s or /27s if you can use it fast enough and get it, get out. You can go to any host with a /28. Burn it fast and move on.
No.... Burst doesnt even work with mailers anymore, I think, their network was so spammy and full of complaints I think they took a much needed break. Finding an ISP is very easy and shouldnt be a big problem for anyone unless your data is suspect... you mentioned you received 2 abuse complaint in the past.. what kind were they? How many complants are you getting on avg from your data?
I'm new to this and have only been mailing for a couple months, so I've received only two abuse complaints so far (both in the first month) that were due to several of my IP's getting a nomination to be listed in the RBL. But even though I'm new to mailing, the GI data I'm using has been worked on pretty intensively in the past (mined for clickers/openers/spamtraps, and cleaned using Impressionwise).
http://multirbl.valli.org/lookup/96.47.32.136.html I've since ditched the provider that I got the abuse complaints through, but the last drop on that IP was about 3 weeks ago. I save blacklist records for IPs after I finish a drop and the only blacklist that has disappeared from that IP since the last drop is the "510 Software Group Blackholes" blacklist.
alllllright ( .______. ) But if that's not too many blacklists, I'm a bit puzzled why I got abuse complaints so quickly... Perhaps its because I'm sending out several mm's in a night >_<
