If I have new IPs, how the hell can I get openers and clickers when most of the mails would go into the spam folder based on the rep of the IP? Seems like a Catch-22 when you start to mail.

I guess during the warming process that most of the mails will inbox? I am reluctant to attach tracking on the mails since it causes spam scores to increase.

Are you not masking and redirecting your advertiser tracking links? If not, you should be, and if so, you should easily be able to count who is passing through.

Haven't gotten there yet; still cleaning my lists. What kind of tracking do mailers use on the redirect page?

Perhaps you missed the thread a few days ago showing most of the Cake redirects on the SBL? You don't want those links in your emails. Even if they aren't on the SBL, they are beat to crap by other mailers that forget to, or don't mask, their links. I can't remember what mailer you are using, but you should always mask the affiliate links with your own domains in the emails. If your domain gets beat up, use a new one.

That is also how you track opens and clicks. If you are using the advertiser/network links and images, you can't track opens and clicks.

If your IPs are getting spam boxed from the get go, they may not be all that clean to start with. Sure, warmup helps keep them in the inbox but depending on what domains you are mailing to, you should see some inbox on the first drop if you are mailing clean. No IP reputation is better than bad reputation.

Getting into, and staying in, the inbox does take work...

I am using Interspire as the injector till I code a better one. The IPs are decent, but started to think of this question. I guess then I need to code a simple redirect which captures the referred email.

As far as I remember, Interspire will 'mask' the links..
