I'm getting tons of spam lately, all from IPv6. Spamcop can't handle
it. Most of them have this in the email source: intimefinance.local

Yep, pretty annoying. Same problem with your secondary MX is IPv6-aware:
spamcop does not see the V6 relay address, and stops processing all
spams coming from the secondary MX

The only IP address that's worth more than yesterday's bowel movement is the
IP address of whoever delivered the spam to your mail server, that you
control, or trust. If your mail server has only IPv4 connectivity, you will
always have the spammer's IPv4 address to assign the responsibility of
spamming you.

Although the spam may have been ultimately originated elsewhere, only the
owner of the mail server can attest to the accuracy of the mail headers that
it inserts into mail that it handles. You cannot attest to the truthfulness
of a Received: header from some random mail server on the Internet. You may
certainly derive some level of confidence by examining the chain of
Received: headers to see if a particular one of them makes sense, still, the
only thing that you can prove is the IP address of whoever sent the spam to
you, and that's who is responsible for spamming you, and nobody else. If
they're not the original sender, they can take it up themselves with whoever
they think sent it.

I have always considered Spamcop's approach to be dumb, you're just proving
my point for me.

It would appear the anti's have not caught up to IPv6. But some mailers are already testing the waters.

I think antis are the only kinds of people who would enable IPv6 on their mail servers at this stage of the transition.

I thought the same, as it is apparent they are trying to find a way to merge their systems into IPv6 policing. Which, apparently is not so easy.

However, there are many web hosting companies who are running out of IPv4 space, and are now only allowing 1-3 IP's and the rest have to be IPv6. While not all web hosts are hurting for IP space, there are some scrambling now. Especially the smaller shared/VPS providers. As they will need to rethink their business model based on the current market.
