I know a lot of guys have managed drops and offer rotation/integration that gives them a nice scheduled dashboard of how the actual act of dropping occurs, but how do you manage other aspects of the business? Lists, clean dates, revshares, partnerships, external FTPs, etc. I'm pretty sure everyone does it uniquely, but is there anything commercially available that helps you organize your operational and corporate activity? MTA costs, list shares, previous payments, etc.? Just curious, sorry if this is a fucked question!
I'm working on something that solves a lot of these problems, but I'm pretty sure adlinkr has a lot of the features you're looking for. I've never used it but I've demoed it and it does a lot in regards to revshares and list management.
Excel?? I agree with SG, adding in a cost like that is crazy unless you're pulling in 5 figures + a month. Even still, if you got to 5 figures a month without it, will it actually help you make more $? But as two people recommended AdLinkr, which I'll assume is cost prohibitive at this point, what would you (SG or NYCmailer) recommend as a cheap (insert affordable) alternative? Is this a job for Excel and a little old fashioned "paper work"? Pulling in your numbers and keeping track of them that way? I'm no Excel guru, but I know it can be pretty powerful in the right hands. :hmmmm:
I use Excel right now for everything but it's limited in a lot of ways, mainly if I add data to reports, getting the historical data back in is a bitch if you didn't data enter everything. I'm looking at APIs right now to get some reports built, but not a lot of people offer a quality service!! Just curious if there was a solution out there! Thank you all for the replies.
If It Were So Easy Everybody Would Have It Already... Several problems right here: 1) Different people want different metrics / reports 2) Different networks have different ways to report clicks / subids / revenues 3) Different mailing softwares have different ways of logging / tracking / reporting things internally There are just too many moving parts to make it all work seamlessly. I have not seen Adlinkr demo but I believe they rely on screen scraping of stats from lots of different reporting systems to generate some numbers. The number of things that can go wrong in this type of setup is simply EPIC.
Thanks for the Adlinkr kudos guys! It is definitely a great tool for doing what the OP had asked about, as i mailed with it for 3+ years before i came on board the team. I don't want my posts on this board to be about Adlinkr, as i think we can all contribute to each other in ways that don't involve pushing products so the following will probably be one of the only times i elaborate, but only because it's been brought up recently. The pricing is upwards of 3k per month for the complete solution, but it starts at 1500/month and that is for pretty much everything except data management. I would agree that this system would be a bit overkill if you weren't pulling in 5 figures a month, but I can say from experience that it can certainly help you get there. A lot of our clients can add the cost of adlinkr into their sending costs as well, meaning that they are only paying for 1/2 of it if they are doing revshares based on net revenue. DKPMO -- Some of the stat pulling relies on screen scraping, but you'd be surprised. A lot of networks these days give us direct access to APIs or csv files which makes the screen scraping more and more archaic. BB_Wolfe -- If you'd like a demo of what adlinkr does i'd be happy to set up some time. Even if you're not ready for it, there is a good chance i've demoed some people who have posted and, if thats true, they'll tell you I love this thing; I'd love to show off what it can do for you regardless if you become a customer or not. Some cheaper solutions for stats would definitely be something like statstrackpro. This is desktop-based, and i dont believe includes ESP stats or any campaign autiomation, but I know a lot of guys use this and it is definitely a cheaper alternative that can at least put your numbers in one place. Anyway, thanks for the mentions guys! I hope mailing is going well for you all.
Could you address my questions of how you standardized the metrics and what reports you provide? Perhaps you could post some screenshots to make it clear.
just PM'ed you. Trying to keep the forum ad-free, but i'd be more than happy to show you adlinkr reporting and metrics.
Adlinkr is like having another employee, the time savings is insane. I have been using it for 6 months and can honestly say its worth every penny.
