After mailing GI for a few months I'd like to start mailing some AOL also. I have access to cheap virgin /24s and some good AOL data. I guess I need to set up a FBL first. Where do I start?

Do I mail like GI and just blast until they are blocked or spread the volume over many IPs? When people mention warming up the IPs how exactly do you do that for AOL?

Thanks for any tips and input.

Do the FBL's before you send any mail. Then start out VERY slowly increasing the speed and volume gradually. There are many different ideas on how fast to set your sends at but I strongly suggest going as slow as possible. For the first few days as slow as 10 - 20 emails per hour per IP. Some people might think that's insanely slow - and it is, but it will help you build your rep with them.

Some guys like to send jokes, or non-mktg messages at first, but I don't. My thinking on this is to be transparent with the the ISP and not bother trying to trick them during the warmup then hammer away after. It could backfire

Other mailers may suggest something different (and I welcome other input here), but that's my 2 cents worth.

There's a lot more prep in sending aol, than just setting up FBL's you have to make sure your rdns is configured properly,DKIM, etc. After that you have to make sure your data is decent not a ton of shit some guy sold you.
then you can worry about warming and FBL's

    good luck

    What up Ace,
First, cheap virgin ip's? What do you mean by Cheap? Do you mean inexpensive? Lol
Good Aol Data? Well, i guess you will see after you start sending and hopefully you will clear more than 80%, i have had "good aol data" in the past and when you start to send, only 20% clears, so thats not good, Lol
But, at this point you have a heck of a lot to do to even get to that point. Aol is no easy game and if you have never dabbled in it before, be careful - cause it can bite ya hard. It's a constant battle and you better have the time to put in, aint no 9 to 5 job. I agree with the other guy's, slow and steady.... There is no other way with Aol, even if they are whitelisted.... No spray and pray, a lot of babysitting involved... If you dont get on a platform that delivers some decent volume, dont even waste the money your looking to save from the start. Good Luck my friend....
