Microsoft Blocked IP issue goes unresolved after four months I am a small ISP for now almost 18 years with direct allocation of IP space from ARIN.NET. As a direct allocation of IP space from ARIN.NET it becomes our responsibility to maintain the reputation with this limited resource since ipv4 space will soon be exhausted and I am told IP space is not growing on trees. For almost four months now I have been trying to get Microsoft/Hotmail Postmasters to remove a "550 SC-0001 Blocked manually or for spamming" from some of my retired IP space. What I am telling you is that there is no email originating from this IP space whatsoever for more than four months. The IP space is not even routed at this point. The IP space was damaged by a mailer that was terminated and what I would like to do is return this IP space to my available pool of allocated IP space. The problem is Microsoft has refused to remove the "Blocked manually or for spamming" on the IP space making the IP space a wasted resource that I can't reassign to anyone that wants to send email to hotmail accounts. My mailers follow their Delivery guidelines, open support tickets, get a few canned (copy and paste) messages by someone that most likely can't read or understand English. After four or five dialogs, the Microsoft staff ignores me and I start the process all over again. Every time I get the same results. I have followed every guideline Microsoft offers. I'm in the Smart Network Data Services and Junk Mail Reporting Programs and my clients follow all the generally accepted rules of engagement for good emailing. In the past, it was always easy to open a support ticket, show Microsoft I was making changes to the reputation of the mailer and they usually removed the Manual block in 2 to 4 days Now my questions for members on this forum. . . . Does anyone know how to contact Microsoft's Postmaster that would deal with ISP relationships? Is anyone else having this problem? Has Microsoft started being tougher on ISPs since their victory over the Holomaxx Technologies Corporation v. Microsoft court case this past August 23, 2011?? Does anyone have a good contact? i.e. telephone number of a Senior Postmaster at Microsoft? I welcome your comments, suggestions and feedback. A very frustrated Mailer Friendly ISP, Nicky Smith, President (336) 346-6000 Ext 105
Any chance the allocations tied closely to this space outside of your ownership are also on their blacklist? Might explain it.. Superman - Kryptonite sent via PM.
Great move Round - totally uncalled for. Nicky set up my first server almost 10 yrs ago and still very well respected. Superman - Kryptonite sent via PM.
it's widely known nicky smith has catered to mailers who push the emvelope, for atleat 5 yrs now. infact nicky smith gave us some test ips a few years ago and they were just reused garbage that was extremely blocked. it's no surprise he cannot get ranges unblocked, after a few requests hotmail all but ignores you and you're marked forever. my suggestion to you nicky, is use swip, change the swip to a new name if you do, get a new JMRP account, register the ips with it, then tell them you have new clients.
I cant figure you out.. one post you sound like a typical noob from BHW wanting a free pass with stupid Qs like "warming up to beat Cloudmark" and then you make claims you've been mailing for 5 years...
Actually 10 years, read engish: it's widely known nicky smith has catered to mailers who push the emvelope, for atleat 5 yrs now. this is in reference to nicky smith, he used to be a decent provider but then hosted too many bad seeds and just kept going, for atleast 5 yrs
looks like DKPMO who thinks he's james bond is on the case. way to go buds maybe I will change my avatar to pussy galore and we can have cybersex.
self-promotion? You must be kidding... I don't need these outlandish comments. If you don't have some feedback, go find someone else to pick on. ok? :hmpf: Nicky Smith
then get new blocks because they know as much about you as we do i'm sure, you can only cry wolf so many times with HM, usually 2 is the most
You could either wait about 6 months without saying anything and then check the IPs again under SNDS. They should become "unblocked". If not, reallocate them through arin to another company and contact them as said company. Maybe you should be more selective in the clients you bring on...i.e. don't deal with people that don't have at least some rep in the email marketing community. Yeah, thanks to brilliant legislature like the CDA, any ISP can do that including you without having to worry about any legal repercussions. Yeah, these are like the bare minimum. If they see you're promoting affiliate offers - which pretty much all email marketers do - they're going to apply a stricter set of unpublished rules to you. Seems like playing by the rules isn't working out for you, bro. Have you considered breaking the rules and starting a botnet or something? You could have had a very nice one up and running in that 4-month span. Just make it a legal botnet by providing the people who install your software with some marginally useful function such as the local weather or a pornographic slideshow. See above. In otherwords whose cock do you need to suck to get some service up in there? Gspot, that's your specialty - I'll defer to you. Yes. Is holomaxx even an ISP? I don't see the link. The case was dismissed; no precedent was set other than the fact that the CDA is a poorly-written law that gives too much power and too little accountability to ISPs when dealing with email. Does rewording a question and asking it again constitute asking an entirely different question? Start an occupy redmond protest and bring a lot of cheese. If your IPs are blocked I'd say you're not mailer-friendly...and why did you format your post like a sales-pitch for some poorly conceived ebook? Do you really have that much FREE time on your hands as the "president" of an ISP?
