Anyone using offshore hosts? I am aware that the majority of the time the IPs are trashed and no TLD clean mailer would have any luck with it, but for GI I seem to do well with whatever condition IPs. I'm not having any trouble really with domestic hosts, but just thought I'd get some input for future use. There are a few hosts that will give you a good amount of IPs and are "mailer friendly" so I always wondered.

Not all offshore hosts or their IP's are torched. Nor are they only for G.I.. But I do concede your point all the same.

You just have to know where to go to get your space.... ARIN, RIPE, LACNIC, AFNIC, etc.. Those who are doing "bulletproof" will more often then not have torched space, but they typically (claim) to not give a rat's ass about SC complaints (although there are a few U.S. based one's as well). I suppose there is that trade off if that is what you seek.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I figured. I'd just have to find the right host. Again I haven't had trouble domestically so I haven't even looked much, but something to consider if I ever got a good hosting recommendation.

Stay away from the Netherlands e.g. eCatel, etc.. too many spammers there and the IPs are beaten up.

It's amazing that some people believe that bulletproof is the way to mail. If your IP or range gets listed, what do you think happens to the delivery? I don't care if the ISP ignores all the complaints, your emails will go right to spam or will get deleted. In some cases TLD will even send a success message back to your server and will delete your email.

I'm not saying BP is the way to mail...I'm just asking about offshore options. As you're saying, any BP place NORMALLY has trashed IPs.

I tried BP and offshore servers many years ago and it was an expensive lesson to have. As pepe mentioned even if the ISP ignores all the complaint the IPS range can be block and no emails can be send out or delivered.

They can even block an entire range without your fault and start hurting you delivery.

Nederlands has some good ISPs left, but they are cracking down on spam now and that will help a lot. Before, they damn near supported it, but lately I have seen spammers getting shut down over there. The new spammer countries seem to be Latvia and Romania. I saw a bunch coming from Malaysia in my logs too, but it was all lotto stuff. For good IPs you'll want to start clean and build organically. No horseplay when building reputation because all it takes is to be caught 'scamming the system' once and you'll ose all the IPs you have.

I believe it's spelled, "Netherlands", not "Nederlands".

Whatever, you're not Dutch. So this doesn't apply.
