Open Rates by Vertical

    It's crazy what you can run across when you're looking for something. I was looking for some pictures and I came across this article and I just had to share it. I can't say that I've ever seen CTR's or Open rates broken down in such detail before. These charts and the article are from 2007, but it shows what was trending at the time. People ask me all the time what type of offers I run and I'll tell you that I take into consideration the state of the economy when chosing offers. It doesn't make any sense to me to run an offer that requires a CC# and is asking for an upfront cost plus monthly. The days of killing it in CPA running continuity offers, the "free plus shipping" stuff are long over IMO. About 2 years ago it was solid gold, biz opps, Acai, ResV, etc. were all over the place and advertisers had huge budgets. But then the bottom fell out, merchants started dropping advertisers like they had the plague. People lost their asses. So a move into lead gen was called for. Take the pressure off of the consumer. Ask for less information. And for me, it works. Now I'm not saying that if you know your data and it kills on CPA to stop running it. I know guys killing it with offers like Hip Recall....and I wish I could too! With a CPA well over $100 I'd love to see 10-20 sales a day on that. I just don't have the data for it.

    So, what do you guys see trending now? What verticals are you hitting the hardest?
