Seasonal Lockdown: When ISPs heavily filter mail to bulk, or block you more aggressively. Have you noticed this? Cloudmark related cables? AOL? Let's talk real here, no PushEnd glory speals. I saw AOL have a big first few weeks this month then kaput. Looks like cables are heavily blocking mail based on their past IP rep too, not that sure about new Ips. Anyone care to add any info?
I read your first half of the post and was all ready to give you some info, but man you really got to realize how you sound when asking for help. Like no jokes here, completely serious, you saw the whole board basically attack you for doing this last time. You can't tell people to post real and try to slip in a joke against one of our moderators. Push not only puts a ton of effort in to helping people on here, but also is personally friends with most of the community, including myself, so dropping in a comment like that really takes the spirit out of going out of my way for you. You see other threads, don't you? Do you see any new people get help? Yes, you should. Do you see us making a thread with their name and making cartoons and jokes about other people? nope. So maybe, just maybe, you will realize you're coming off offensively, your questions are asking for help, and that's cool we want to help people on here but instead of just seeing what you aren't getting, be thankful for the help you do get and you will find a lot more people coming to help you. So if you want to start fresh on here, drop the attitude and thank people like Push and Round for taking the time to talk to you on here, they certainly have nothing to gain from you and still are here every day making posts that teach you this business. And to answer your question, yes the holiday season is by far the worst time of year to mail, every major filter like spamhaus and cloudmark not only are more agressive but release a ton of new traps looking for companies trying to pound email for their christmas specials. There isn't much you can do about it, this time of year is when you only mail your safest data, data that you already know is safe. Some mailers stop completely this time of year, only mailing clickers to avoid getting their ips raped by the new traps and extra filtering.
That's great info, there is no attitude, just clarifying the purpose of the post so you guys don't get misguided.
It's funny. When everyone was going balls to the wall with aol and yahoo I got shit on by both. Now my delivery is going fine, go figure.
Yeah the AOL delivery was complete fluke. They were modifying something, and left some massive backdoors in that people discovered. It was like delivering mail to AOL back in 2004, lol. So that doesn't really count as "normal". The cloudmarks are acting differently though, and many are reducing the amount allowed in, from what I can tell.
I been watching JohnF's stats and he is doing well! From a provider standpoint, we have seen many networks being more agressive with filtering however there are ways around that. Make sure you are on a clean ASN. This time of the year cox, for example turns on the ASN lookup system but only for holidays and big mail days. This system learns about where your ips are coming from, which ASN's and etc and blocks accordingly if the ASN has been a naughty girl this year. They want to stuff you with coal for that. Note however that the ASN system puts load on their systems and they do not like to use it so they DO disable it normally. Also, note: I do agree that people on this board should not be taking cheap shots at admins known for helping others. My .02.
Ok Superman... so I have done a little research on you and from your connections I can tell you are legit and would be a great addition here. I am very confused by you though. You come on here and start all sorts of havoc and then ask for help, then stir the pot again. I will admit that sometimes it is easy to stir the pot on here. =) One of my sales guys comes off sounding like a cocky m-fer all of the time. Every time I call him out on it, he doesn't even realize he is doing it. I am wondering if you guys have some similarities....? Anyways, the end of the year is always tough. Yahoo and AOL being the worst in my experience. Gotta get those end of year #s up... we blocked 800 gazillion emails in 2011! It's kind of like the asshole state troopers that set up speed traps to hit the end of month quotas.
Once again... where did I ask for help? I am trying to help. But I think your last post is LOL at the get the #'s up, kinda like cops having to load up on speeding tickets on the last days of the month.
