While it's always good to find information on an ESP, please include as much information as you can. For instance, "how do you know they are AOL only? There's nothing on their website about that." I know a few people who use Tremtek.. I used them years ago, I hope things have changed, but my biggest beef was: 1. You couldnt upload data yourself. You'd have to upload a file, and then wait for their guy to import it. 2. Most confusing interface award without a doubt. Everybody I talk to complaints about the damn interface being so confusing. I'm sure Craig has cleaned up the interface since then - he's a good guy with a great product.
ha - sorry for the lack of details. I don't believe they have a demo, and they may only take clients based upon referral. I know they are aol only from speaking with and using them. As roundabout said, the interface is clunky. You bring a server with IPs and they setup and manage the software on it. We last used it about a year ago. What they offer is not so much the software, but the strategy and some proprietary data tools to help with aol delivery.
I used Tremtek for years as well and Round, your assessments were (at one point) spot on. #1 is not an issue anymore, as i believe you have list-specific folders that data gets sent into. I can't remember if it updates counts in realtime or not though. I just spoke with craig a week or two ago and they are in the process of simplifying the interface, so when that is complete the system will certainly be a whole lot cleaner. Aside from that though, i can personally say that we always had great returns on AOL data when mailing from tremtek.
I've also had good results with Tremtek in the past. Not for the AOL service however. Never tested that. This was with a different product that is no longer offered by Tremtek. Craig is a picky guy and won't work with just anyone. He never really wanted to talk to me and instead preferred to deal with my partner Serge.
