I'm domino. Ive been reading many many posts on this forum over the past few months, familiarizing myself with best practices for high volume email marketing. I'm nearing my first venture in compliant email marketing, which I am carefully planning and budgeting. Here's my plan generalized. Buy my data. I'm planning on purchasing a data feed with over 10mm records in several niches. Buy a dedicated server. I already have a place in mind that hosts my web server. Comes with 16 IPs. Buy 10 brandable domains in a few big niches. A few generic sounding domains. Buy Interspire email marketer. Set up IEM on the server on a domain and IP that will never be mailed off of. Set up a domain/ip to blast 500k and proccess bounces. Set up first ip/domain to be warmed up. Send 1k first day over 24 hours. Send 5k second day over 24 hours 10k 15k 20k 25k 30k 40k 50k etc and plateau somewhere around 250k a day Im going to be running a duplicate of this proccess on another domain/ip at the same time. Thats the gist of my plan. I'm not mentioning rdns, feedback loops and the offers I'm sending. A couple questions though. Is an aged domain going to be important during this warming up proccess? I would prefer aged domains but I'm going to end up buying all the stuff I need at the same time so I'm going to want to start emailing right away. Do I reeeaaally need to wait 30 days to email on a domain? Is my plan for warming up ips too aggressive? Should I be sending less? More? Ramp up slower? I'm trying to hit the ground running and make this count. I realize this will be a long learning proccess Nice meeting you all!
Hey domino, Nice to meet you and congrats! I think no matter whether you wait or not, there are still going to be stumbling blocks along the way. As you said, it's a long learning process. Be careful - mailing is a tricky beast. My best suggestion without knowing all the specifics would be don't put all your eggs in one basket. Good luck!
Thanks! Yeah I am definitely spreading out my marketing, I just want to know if I'm in the right direction!
First off don't BUY Interspire. There are tons of cracked versions. Second, don't use interspire. Not even being a dick, it's just a piece of crap if you're going to give mailing a serious shot. I don't know what your budget is, but don't try to do this without spending some real $ to get going. That's my crappy advice.
Great 'crappy' advice. Give nymailer a shout - he'll save you a lot of time and effort, money too. You can spend way more $ half-assin' it and putting this piece and that piece together only to find out it sucks and you're back to square one with less money than you had before.
I had no idea it was so bad. I knew nothing about it except what their website said. And mixed reviews online. I want to spend cash money and get a server and program that I can scale with and add new servers into. I don't want to half ass this at all I'm glad I know now that interspire is doodoo without very intensive modifications. What should I be using? What kind of budget should I be working with knowing more is better. 5 grand is a stretch but 2 grand not including server and domains should at least get me started in a way i can scale right? Thanks all
Well yeah I'm going to do that lol. I like open discussion too! Thanks for giving me the referral! Its highly appreciated.
Just to keep this updated, I am very close to beginning my Warm Up process. I have pmta and iem setup on two servers, around 1 million good cleaned data. tld. I am working with someone to help me, and I'm just waiting on a meeting with him to start warming up for my first messages. I have 13 ips, some domains, yada yada. I'm very excited. I'm also very nervous. I am really aiming for mailing to be a great turn of the year for me. If I could make $1000 a month mailing my life would take a big turn. I'm one of the younger cats in the game, but I'm trying to hit it hard. Hopefully, I'll surpass my goal of $1000 soon enough, I hear people bitching about only make $100-$200 a day after a month or two, and honestly as a college aged manboyhybrid, $50 a day could take my career to the next level. I'll keep this thread updated, and will answer any questions/be asking plenty! Thanks mailerforum u rocc <3
Oh Boy..you should listen to big guys if you really wana opt mailing as serious and full time business..rest s your decision. I have used this kinda setup for long..and made me feel sick when i entered in real world and felt like nowhere...:aargh4:
Best of luck to you.. if your goal is $50 a day for happiness you should easily reach this goal unless you're doing something seriously wrong.... let us know how you do, we'd love to hear about it.
yeah that is a very very low goal. but just sayin. Im warming up my IPs now, just sent my first campaign. PMTA is very powerful.
