I look at a lot of the mail that hits my spam folder. I figure "fuck it, I'm already on the list, I might as well be an opener too"! But I do it to check content, maybe gleen something from it so I don't make the same mistakes and end up junking more, especially if it's an offer I'm running. So from time to time I see an interesting strategy on the location of the unsub links, or lack thereof. A lot of your big ESPs require it to be very pronounced at the top of your email body, others want to push it so far down it's damn near impossible to find. So here's a good article on embracing the location of the unsub link I came across today in my surfing... : :006: source: TrendlineInteractive.com
AGREED! Good artical, I always suggest being as transparent as possible. Adding both an unsub to both the top and bottom shows people that you are not interested in "spamming" them. I get uber frustrated when I have to search for an unsub link and then not have it work. Also, the best way to combat the accidental clicking of the unsub, is to have a recipent confirm the actual request, this should solve the issue for those pesky crackberries :vroam:
